Day-time temperatures are getting above freezing in the Notches thru mid-week and highs in North Conway should reach into the 40's thru Thursday. Predicted clouds may preserve some marginal climbs like Goofers on Cathedral and Bob's Delight at Frankenstein, but watch out for falling ice while walking along local cliff bases. Don't forget to move your clocks ahead on Saturday night – the government has changed Daylight Savings Time to the second Sunday in March as an energy saving measure. This year the clocks spring ahead three weeks earlier! It won't make Alpine starts any easier...

Conditions:
Franconia Notch
: The Black Dike is good, bring rock and ice gear.
Kancamagus Highway: Champney Falls is good.
Cathedral Ledge: North End steep variations are hook fests. Slab is o.k.
                         Goofer's s Direct has a thin, runout start. Watch warm days through Thurs.
Crawford Notch: : The s.w. facing Texaco Slabs are currently in, Amphitheater is good.
Arethusa Falls
: Good. Watch for holes in the center and at the base.
Frankenstein
: Pegasus, Hobbit Couloir, Chia, Cave Route, Bob's Delight (in, watch daily), The Trestle Cut Climbs (pecked), The Forest climbs, Mean Miss Treater, Waterfall (thin top-out), Standard, Penguin, Dracula, House of Blue and Practice Slab North are in. Still lots of ice to climb.
Mt Webster: Shoestring and all the other gullies are in - Landslide has a harder curtain than rated. These are long climbs, bring rock and ice gear, headlamps.The descent from Shoestring down the Webster Cliff trail is packed.
Willey's Slide
: Good.
Top of the Notch: Elephants Head Gully is o.k. The Silver and Flume Cascades have short ice walls and long snow climbing sections.
Mt. Willard: Hitchcock Gully (mixed), Upper East Slabs are good. Packed approach.
Mt. Washington:

Huntington Ravine has good ice climbing. Check avalanche report.
The Lions Head Winter Trail is open; The Sherburne has good snow.
The Harvard cabin is open. Sign up at AMC Pinkham Notch Camp.

Lake Willoughby: Float Like a Butterfly, Twenty Below Zero Gully, Crazy Diamond and The Tablets are currently in, other climbs worth checking out. The Glass Menagerie has a good looking ice piller. Watch out for sun on Monday.
